CGI’s OpenMedia newsroom computer system (NRCS) acts as a collaboration platform and provides journalists with the information, functionality, and transparency they need to stay on top of every day news production challenges. CGI OpenMedia provides maximum speed and scalability for handling journalistic workflows in broadcast news production – from wire search, scripting, and rundown management to playout control.
Using the DeepVA integration in OpenMedia, many intelligent functions of DeepVA can be used conveniently from OpenMedia without the user having to manage multiple applications. The user is quickly and easily provided with information that is designed to facilitate, improve and accelerate journalist’s everyday work to research content for their stories. DeepVA identifies the people mentioned in the body text of an OpenMedia Story so that they can be displayed in the OpenMedia Story along with interesting person data. The personal data includes a short description of the person, the date of birth, a possible date of death and other data. In addition to identifying people, similar OpenMedia stories are suggested and listed in the OpenMedia Story with important details. The user can automatically open a suggested story in OpenMedia and get access to all details.
