Is live transcription provided in real-time, or is there a delay?
Live transcription is provided in real-time with minimal latency. For on-site audiences, the delay is typically less than 1 second. However, translations may experience a slight delay, as the automatic speech recognition (ASR) process takes 3-5 seconds, plus an additional 2 seconds for translation. For online audiences, burned-in subtitles may introduce an additional 8 seconds of delay. This setup ensures both on-site and online audiences can follow the event with minimal disruption.
Is a video stream required, or can audio-only streams be used?
No, a video stream is not required. Audio-only streams can also be used for subtitle generation.
How can subtitles be displayed?
Subtitles can be provided in various formats, such as SRT files, HLS text streams, or real-time updates via HLS Realtime Egress. Additionally, subtitles can be displayed through the Aiconix Live Viewer in real time, ensuring accessibility even for audio-only streams.
Is it possible to receive subtitles on my mobile device?
Yes, it is possible to send subtitles to any “second screen,” such as a smartphone, tablet, or other devices. This ensures accessibility and flexibility for viewing subtitles in real-time, regardless of the device being used.
Can subtitles be streamed through my content delivery network or video platform?
Yes, subtitles can be streamed through your content delivery network (CDN) or video platform.
Do you offer integration with Microsoft Teams?
