EVS and DeepVA Bring Advanced AI Capabilities to VIA MAP

EVS, a global leader in live video technology for broadcast and media production, has partnered with DeepVA to introduce additional advanced AI capabilities into its VIA MAP Media Asset Platform.

The collaboration begins with the integration of face recognition and custom face dataset management, giving media organizations a smarter way to identify people across both live and archived content. The result is faster content discovery, more efficient workflows, and new opportunities to unlock value from media archives.

Smarter Workflows with AI

By combining VIA MAP’s AI-driven metadata framework with DeepVA’s technologyusers can:

  • Automatically detect and recognize faces across content libraries

  • Create own models or use our pretrained celebrity model with 20.000 entities

  • Build and manage custom face datasets for specific talents, teams, or events

  • Quickly find the right content using visual identity-based search

  • Reduce manual logging and improve metadata accuracy

These new capabilities are designed to increase operational efficiency giving production teams more time to focus on storytelling.

Building on the Strength of VIA MAP

VIA MAP continues to bring convergent content management across production, media and digital assets for live sports and breaking news workflows, enabling fast-turnaround end-to-end from ingest all the way to distribution across on-premises, hybrid, and cloud environments.

Already deployed at major international events across North America, Milan, and Dakar, the platform unifies AI-enriched metadata, advanced logging, and seamless third-party integrations to streamline operations.

With DeepVA’s face recognition now part of the platform, users benefit from even more precise search, faster access to content, and improved archive usability.

Visitors to NAB can see the integration in action at the EVS booth (N1841) in Las Vegas.

As part of EVS’s largest NAB showcase to date, the demo will highlight how face recognition and custom datasets fit naturally into VIA MAP workflows—making it easier to manage, find, and use content in real time.

The integration will be presented alongside EVS’s broader production ecosystem, including:

  • A flexible, software-defined architecture supporting end-to-end workflows
  • New AI-driven tools designed to boost productivity and creativity
  • Advanced orchestration of complex live production environments
  • Capabilities that turn live camera feeds into actionable insights

Together, these innovations show how EVS and DeepVA are helping media organizations work smarter, adapt faster, and create more engaging content.

Supporting Modern Sports and News Production

For sports and news teams, the partnership brings tangible benefits to handling large volumes of mission-critical content under tight deadlines.

In news workflows, VIA MAP continues to bring together ingest, AI metadata enrichment, asset management, editing, playout, and multi-platform distribution in a single interface. With the addition of face recognition, editorial teams can quickly identify key individuals and moments—helping them move faster from production to publication.

With flexible cloud deployment, strong integrations with newsroom systems and NLEs, and AI-assisted tools, EVS and DeepVA are making it easier for teams to collaborate and get the most out of their content across broadcast, digital, and social platforms.
