The challenge
Clear and error-free communication channels are essential in the context of government work, especially on behalf of the Federal Press Office / Bundeskanzleramt. It is not only the topicality and relevance of the content that plays an important role here, but also the fact that such broadcasts are produced without barriers and errors. TVN produces the private reporting from the Federal Chancellery / Bundeskanzleramt for the Berlin Pool TV production company.
The challenge was not only to provide such statements completely barrier-free with subtitles and sign language interpreters, but also to provide an additional level of control for the correctness of the transmitted statements, which offers the highest possible precision.
Solution
TVN SOLUTIONS and TVN PRODUCTION were confronted with this difficult task and wanted to offer their customers a customized solution that would meet all requirements.
TVN Solutions developed an innovative workflow based on the artificial intelligence of the aiconix Deep Live Hub, which performs real-time transcription and inserts the human control layer into the process. The Deep Live Hub makes it possible to subtitle government speeches with a slight delay and with virtually no errors. And the ability to correct and adjust the subtitles editorially in real time has reduced the error rate to just 0–2%.
In order to meet the requirements of the Federal Press Office, TVN relied on a comprehensive managed service that includes not only the technical staff at the Federal Chancellery for content creation, but also the correction, distribution and recording of subtitles with trained personnel. This also includes compliance with GDPR guidelines, the requirements of the Federal Ministry of the Interior and regular system customization to ensure optimal performance. The entire production service includes both the control room and camera production at the Federal Chancellery, which is realized by TVN personnel and technology, as well as the remote production in Hanover. Here, the transcription is checked again by an editor and corrected if necessary. The stream is then distributed to the target address and published.
Result
The combination of automated AI technology and human editorial control enabled accurate and reliable subtitling to be realized in near real time. This solution not only increased the transparency and accessibility of government speeches, but also maximized accuracy, which is particularly important in public and political contexts.
