Seamless Integration into Existing Streaming Infra­structure

TU Bergakademie Freiberg chose DeepVA to enhance the acces­si­bility of its streamed events. The system was integrated into their existing video workflow and tested in multiple real-life scenarios. The key imple­men­tation steps included:

  • Live Streaming to Twitch: The univer­sity’s events were streamed via Twitch, with Aiconix providing real-time subtitles.

  • Integration with Extron SMP 351: The Extron SMP 351 encoder, a standard in German univer­sities due to its automation capabil­ities, handled the video stream. Aiconix processed the audio feed and generated real-time subtitles before embedding them into the Twitch stream.
  • User-Friendly Dashboard: Organizers could pre-select the subtitle language via the Aiconix cloud dashboard, ensuring that the right language was displayed during the event.
  • Post-Event Transcript Download: For documen­tation and later use, the German transcript could be downloaded as an SRT file. And in the future, there will be even more possi­bil­ities thanks to Composite AI.

Technical Workflow

1. The event video was streamed through Extron SMP 351.

2. The stream was sent to Aiconix Cloud, where the AI-generated subtitles were created

3. The processed stream was trans­mitted to Twitch, embedding live captions in the selected language

4. The audience accessed the stream with real-time subtitles on Twitch, improving acces­si­bility and engagement
